One of the biggest mistakes people make when selling their home is not asking questions. If you don’t ask questions like ‘what is a quit claim deed’ then you are. I’m not going to understand the buying process. Talk to your realtor or solicitor to find out what you need to know. No question is a stupid question as ask as many as you need to. 

The same also applies when you are buying a house. You need to make sure you ask plenty of questions to the realtor and to the new owner where possible. After all, they are the ones who know the ins and outs of the house, They will also be able to point you in the right direction for fees that you need to pay. 

Don’t Underestimate The Cost

When you think about selling your home, it can be really easy to get too excited and forget all about your budget. Some even forget to evaluate the value of their home. Sometimes people put their house up for a sale value that they desire rather than a value that their home is worth. It is essential that when selling your home you think about every little thing. For example, would the new buyer new to put in a new kitchen or tidy up the garden? 

You also need ot think about the general cost of selling your home. Sometimes a realtor will take a commission for selling your home, therefore, you need to make sure you include these in your house-selling budget

Skipping The Home Inspection 

Every home buyer will ask for an inspection before they sign the dotted line. This means if you are selling your home, you should think about getting a home inspection completed before you put your home on the market. They will look out for things like pests and moulds. If you get your inspection it will give you the chance to repair these before you even put your house on the market.
