Halloween has been and gone so now it is time for Christmas to appear. Every year, we try and get ready in order to make the holiday season the best one yet. But after a few years of having to keep things low key, it is time to break out the tinsel and shake your babbles. Here are some of the jobs that you should tackle before it is party time.
Clean your oven
Be honest with us, how often do you clean your oven? Probably not as much as you should. However, with Christmas the amount of cooking that you are about to do, you might want to get a professional in to have a look and get it cleaned up for you. A lot of people don’t see the point of getting it cleaned before Christmas because it is going to get dirty, but a dirty oven can impact your cooking. Don’t make the potatoes taste funny by having a film of burnt chicken nuggets stuck to the bottom of the oven.
Tidy the bathroom
During the festive season, there is going to be a lot of drinking. The drinks will vary from hot chocolate to hot whisky. Whatever the drink is, it needs to come out eventually. For this, you need to have a working bathroom that is ready to receive guests. Bathroom Remodeling can be a great thing to get done before the holidays roll around so that you can guarantee that you will have a working toilet that will cope with the demands of all of the people who will be in your home.
Put up the tree
It might be a little bit early to put it up right now but you should have a look at what is in your decorations. This is the chance to see if everything is working and if you need to replace anything. It is always a good idea to put aside some time so that you can dedicate a day to putting everything up and together. As a general rule, many people like to put everything up on the 1st of December so that it is ready in plenty of time. Also, if you know that there are pieces that you would like but don’t need, put some money aside for the sales when they are selling off the Christmas stock.
Clear the garden
The garden is where Santa and his reindeer might have to land the sleigh, so you need to make sure that it is clear for him and any other guests. When it is raining, the ground can be slippery and your guests could fall. Don’t let your driveway be the place where someone breaks a bone before Christmas. Get out the power hose, brush up the leaves, and make sure that the place is safe for your guests. Not only will it be safer, but it will also look nicer too. You could go that extra mile and add some Christmas decor to the garden if you are feeling festive.
