Ensuring The Summer Stays Enjoyable In Your Home

The summer time can be a very hot and humid period of the year.

It can be unbearable sometimes, to sit indoors and feel the muggy, condensed air on your skin, only to go outside and feel that the air out there is exactly the same!

And because you deserve to have a home that makes you feel comfortable and cool, we’ve collected a few ideas below to help you get those heavy waves of heat out of your rooms. Make sure you keep them in mind when the temperature gets a little too much for you, and you need to do something about it as soon as possible!

Cover Your Windows

Your windows let light into your home, yes, but it also ensures the heat from that light comes in, and any air (whether hot or cold) is able to circulate into your home too. And because of this, when the summer hits and it’s a really hot and clear day, you might want to cover your windows to keep the worst of the radiation out.

Get a good set or curtains, or install some blinds, and keep them closed during the day. Or you could plant some tall trees or hedges outside of your house, to allow plant life to absorb the sun’s rays instead. Or you could get a temporary porch for your windows, to create a bit of shade, and feel a lot cooler because of it!

Get to Know Your AC

If you have air conditioning, you’re probably not too worried about how hot it’s going to get inside your home. However, you are going to be a bit more worried about how much the bills are going to be for the months of July and August, and it’s important to get to know your AC because of this!

Make sure you keep your rooms at a set temperature all throughout the summer months; somewhere between 18 degrees and 21 degrees. You could even check to see if your AC is working as well as it should; a company such as Monster Vac could have a quick inspection, to check the inner mechanisms and the filters, to ensure you’re not paying too much for a standard temperature.

Water Can Be Used Strategically!

And finally, if you don’t have an AC, and you don’t have any way to cover your windows up, fill up some bowls with cold water and place them around your house. Allow the water to evaporate into the air and make it a lot cooler than it was when you woke up! Or even set a cold bowl of water and ice cubes down in front of a fan, and let the fan blow air over the bowl and make your very own DIY AC from scratch.

The summer shouldn’t ruin the way your home feels. Make sure you’re using tips like these to keep things cool and bearable – the summer can really ruin how comfy your home is.
